The Importance of Novel Thinking in Fast-Moving Markets

I believe if you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always got.

If you’re lucky, that is.

The recent CMO study by Dentsu and carried out by B2B International found that nearly half of brands surveyed are using the same or similar strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic as they were before it hit.

Meanwhile, only 12% are using entirely new strategies.

It’s easy to get dismayed by this telling stat. Yet I think this highlights an opportunity to stand out from the pack.

How?

Follow the 3 strategies for disruption:

  • Run your business.

  • Change your business.

  • Reinvent your business.

Changing dynamics calls for novel thinking.

Don’t rely on the past to thrive in a fast-moving future. You have to unlearn to relearn.

You need to be relentless to always move forwards and do something better. It will take time, but keep going until you find your USP.
