I oversee all the training of new recruits in the phone unit, along with the monitoring and development of the interviewers. When I have time, I still like to get on the phones too!

What is the best thing about working at B2B International?

Sickeningly, I just love coming to work! Whether it’s dealing with the interviewers, speaking with the respondents, or meeting the clients… Mix that in with a great team of colleagues and there is never a dull moment. I certainly don’t do this job to enjoy my own company!

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

To listen! I think when you are new to telephone interviewing, you can become so engrossed in making sure you say everything you have to that you forget the most important part. Stop! Take a breath and listen to what the respondent is telling you.

What is your favourite place you have visited – and why?

I just love getting to the beach. It can be any time of year and any weather, but stick me by the sea in Wales or Cornwall and I’m a happy man.

What is your favourite book?

Its times like this that I’d love to have the title of some profound novel; unfortunately, I’d say the book that shaped my childhood would have to be the Panini Football Sticker Album. I must have spent ten years of my life with that tucked under my arm.

What is your favourite pastime?

Photography. I think it’s a good thing that I take a thousand photos on holiday! Unfortunately, my wife, Nicola, and two girls are usually waiting for the light to be right or being moved out of the shot because they’re spoiling it!
