As China finalises its preparations for the 2008 Olympics well ahead of schedule, B2B International China is conducting a study designed to make life easier for the thousands of foreign tourists set to converge on Beijing. The project is assessing how the English-language signs now seen all around the city can be ‘polished’ to ensure that they are as clear as possible. B2B International China Director Matthew Harrison explained, “Beijing is a truly international city now, and almost all signs on the roads, on the underground, in hotels etc. are written in both Chinese and English. However for smaller and medium-sized businesses communicating in English can be a challenge. Our study will ensure that businesses in Beijing can make their offerings 100% clear to non-Chinese speakers.”
