Although my role as Director involves leading from the front, my role is much more than that. From taking enquiries through to project design, management, analysis and presentation delivery, I take pride in still having an input along every step of the research process.

What is the best thing about working at B2B International?

I think it would have to be working alongside the great team we have here, but also working closely with the diversity of clients and in the wide array of different industry sectors across the world. I have been very lucky to travel to some amazing places from the work we do at B2B International and I have met some inspiring people in the companies I have worked for that I would also count as good friends. Every day is different at B2B International and that keeps things fresh and challenging.

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

You are only as good as your last job. I have always looked to ‘wow’ clients in the delivery of insightful data that they can act upon. However, once one job has been completed and presented, there is always another waiting in the wings and so you cannot afford the luxury of congratulating yourself on a good job done as who knows what tomorrow’s project will bring? You can never be complacent in this industry!

What is your favourite place you have visited – and why?

I have always had a soft spot for France, from camping holidays as a child through to honeymooning there with my wife. My favourite areas are the regions in the south, from the Dordogne and the Luberon to the Pyrenees and the French Riviera. However, if I had to choose one location it would have to be the Côte d’Azur and specifically the medieval town of Eze. I urge anyone to go and enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony of Chateau de la Chèvre d’Or when the sun is setting – you won’t regret it!

What is your favourite book?

Management in 10 Words by Terry Leahy. I like autobiographies and business books, and this book welds the two together in an insightful read. Very simple in concept but it has definitely inspired me to encourage performance, implement change and promote a positive culture within B2B International.

What is your favourite pastime?

Outside of work, family life is important to me. In addition to spending time with my family, I do try to keep active playing for my local squash and tennis teams as well as following Manchester United. I am also a lover of the outdoors and so, in what additional spare time I have, there is nothing more that I love than walking the hills of the Peak District and Lake District with my family and my English Pointer leading the way.
