Mark Tipping

Mark is a scientist by training having graduated from the University of Manchester with a Masters Degree in Polymer Physics. His first job was with Unilever working at the laboratories in Port Sunlight on developing personal care products. This led to his first involvement in market research with projects covering Africa; Asia; Scandinavia; South America.

Mark joined B2B International at the beginning of 2010 to work as a Research Manager.  Although new to the company, his relationship with the Hague family started in 1988 when he was recruited by Paul to work at Business & Market Research. He stayed there for 20 years through numerous changes in ownership and name, leaving in 2009.

His role at B2B International is to be involved in all stages of the research process from writing proposals and winning projects; project planning; questionnaire design; to report writing and presenting research findings to clients. His recent Clients have included Air Products, Dow Corning, Dow Europe, ICI, International Paper, Shell, Volvo Trucks and the Wolseley Group.

Mark is a full member of the Market Research Society and holds the MRS Diploma.

Two interests away from work are charity work and animals. Memorable charity highlights are organising the Children in Need Toddles (sponsored walks for toddlers), and presenting a cheque on the night for over £250,000; and working as a steward at innumerable Cancer Research Race for Life events. It’s with great sadness and great pleasure that you see all the people who have been touched by cancer taking part. Mark’s interest in animals ranges from watching the owls and woodpeckers in the garden, to spotting sea eagles on the Isle of Mull, and flying harris hawks and bald eagles. He also sponsors the red pandas at Chester Zoo.

However, his lifelong interest is music. Having grown up in the halcyon days of prog rock, he has seen and been influenced by the likes of Black Sabbath; Deep Purple; Genesis; Led Zeppelin; Pink Floyd; and Yes. This is a highlight and, according to his wife, a subject on which he can “bore for England!!”

We value B2B's experience and knowledge. B2B have worked closely with us throughout different projects. This gives me a lot of confidence in their data.
