Last week saw some interesting developments for two very different brands. Firstly, there was the announcement that âbrand Beckhamâ is to be unleashed onto the US market. The move makes Beckham the highest paid sports personality by a long, long way on almost £500,000 a week.
The other big news was the announcement of Appleâs new iPhone. As if this announcement wasnât enough to create a stir on the âblogosphereâ, the furore that followed when Cisco Systems revealed it had filed a lawsuit against Apple for using the iPhone brand (which is owned by Cisco), meant that the buzz around the story was boosted to no end. As they say, (and as the chart below shows) âthereâs no such thing as bad publicityâ?. Using the ever-present news items relating to Iraq as a measure, the chart shows what people have been talking about this week on the blogosphere.
