As Head of Medical Diaries, I manage a team of fieldwork interviewers throughout the UK who recruit doctors to take part in interviews and complete diaries for studies in specific disease areas.  A major part of my role is quality checking once the materials are returned to the office, and ensuring we recruit the sample required by the client.

What is the best thing about working at B2B International?

The best thing is being part of a team.  It’s corny, but you feel like part of a big family, where hard work is acknowledged and rewarded.

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

Always treat other people as you would like them to treat you.

What is your favourite place you have visited – and why?

In the UK, it has to be Cornwall – happy childhood memories.  Further afield I would say: Brittany and the West Coast of France (memories of holidays with my own young family); my sister’s place in Switzerland (so peaceful); and my first sight of Bronte beach in Sydney, Australia (the vivid colours took my breath away).

What is your favourite book?

It’s difficult to choose, but here are a few: The Faraway Tree books by Enid Blyton – I read these as a child and then read them to my children – you can let your imagination run wild; Mary Barton by Elizabeth Gaskell – vivid and disturbing descriptions of life in Manchester during the Industrial Revolution, based strongly on fact; Many Gothic novels but, particularly, Dracula by Bram Stoker – still gripping and terrifying after several reads, particularly after visiting Whitby!

What is your favourite pastime?

Cooking, walking, listening to all types of music (especially live) and choral singing.
